Everyone from every walk of life desires to have a beautiful, healthy smile. But it can take time and cost a bit depending upon what your dental needs are. Our office gets quite a few questions each month from people wanting to know more about how to address certain issues. So below, we go over a few of the major questions we get each month.
How do Invisalign braces work?
When you first come in, we’ll examine you and see if you’d be a good candidate for Invisalign. This procedure works for some but not for everyone. If you’re ready to move forward, call and schedule an appointment and we’ll do an initial exam. We’ll let you know the approximate cost. If we decide on this option for you, we’ll make a mold of your mouth and create your first aligner. You’ll wear it for a length of time, then as your teeth move, we’ll create the next aligner and install it. Over a period of time, your teeth will begin to move together and straighten.
How do traditional braces Irvine work?
The process in the beginning is much the same. The major difference is that we use metal and wire aligners instead of an invisible plastic-like aligner. Each time you come in, we examine your teeth to make sure they’re moving in the right direction. We make adjustments, tightening the wires to encourage your teeth to continue moving in the right direction.
How are ceramic braces different?
Ceramic braces work like metal braces, except that a tooth-colored ceramic material is used making them a bit less noticeable at first glance. Like traditional braces, metal wires straighten teeth. Porcelain braces are also available.
